Going through an old bag of things...and it's strange how many memories come flooding back with each little thing...This time it was a book and a bunch of old jewelry.
One of the first books my husband (then boyfriend...having just started dating) and I enjoyed together and read parts of to each other that we thought were meaningful.
A necklace i bought at a Saturday morning outdoor market in Townsville, Australia.
A Jade bracelet my best friend sent to me from China.
A choker a boy gave me my first year of summer camp.
A Necklace piece my Father made when he was attempting to make a living with wood and clay jewelry...it didn't work out, and now that's mine.
A string of imperfect cheap pearls my sister gave me when she decided they were out of fashion ; )
A beaded bracelet made in Uganda, but for a British soccer team that an old friend thought would be a nice keepsake...ha...well I did end up wearing it until the metal clasp rusted off.
A beaded necklace that my best friend from New Mexico whom I met in Australia bought me for my birthday there...along with a Simpsons cake and a bottle of Mango wine...which I do not recommend.
And of course a couple of stone beaded necklaces from a native American festival that i was sure i would wear everyday...but i didn't.
Lots of memories with these people and places.
Ah! It's so good to remember.
